AM TO CARRY MRN RADIO
WSNR-AM, 620 in New York City has joined the
Motor Racing Network (MRN) family of affiliates for 2002. It is the first
NYC-based station to become an affiliate since MRN, America's largest
independent sports radio network, went on the air in 1970. The sports-talk
station, which serves the New York City metro, Long Island, and portions of
New Jersey, will broadcast the 2002 NASCAR Winston Cup Series beginning with
the Feb. 10 Budweiser Shootout live from historic Daytona International
Speedway in Daytona Beach, Fla. In addition to live race coverage, WSNR will
provide its race fans with MRN's "Monday Morning Race Refresher," a
recap of each weekend's NASCAR results and "NASCAR TODAY," a daily
three-minute newscast featuring event information, driver interviews and late
breaking news stories from the NASCAR circuit. WSNR is owned by "Sporting
News Radio," located in Chicago.. MRN Radio is also on sister station
WWZN-AM, 1510, in Boston.
