Thompson World Series Updates:

UPDATE(10/28/02 9:30PM):  Outlaw Late Models saw Jimmy Kuhn take the checkers.  Long Islanders on hand  included:  #48 John Piazza, Jr. (6), #2 Jeremy McDermott (9), #22x John Denniston (20), #10 Brad Van Houten (21), #73 Brian Doyle (23), #51 Steve Ratti (25), #21NY Chris Beutler (27), #23 Rob Visconti (32), #00 Mike Bologna (33), #17x John Ellwood Jr. (34), #43 Ray Minieri (35).

UPDATE(10/27/02 11:00PM):  Races have gone underway.  The NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series race featured many Long Islanders having a hard time.  Tommy Cravenho would finish 12th in the #12 TS Haulers entry, leading the Long Island brigade of teams.  The rest of the LI Squad follows:  #04 Fred Vordermeier, Jr. (17), #2 J.R. Bertuccio (18), #31 Tony Ferrante, Jr. (20), #09 Bo Gunning (32).  John Blewett III would win the race.
  Sunoco Modifieds saw Bo Gunning and the #12 TS Haulers entry win the feature.  The rest of the LI Squad follows:  #17 Tommy Cravenho (33), #04 Glen Steger (DNQ), #46x Tom White (DNQ)
  Pro Stocks saw Massachusetts native, Dave Berghman take the checkers.  Long Islanders on hand included:  #72x Greg Kleila (11), #28x Glenn Tyler (12), #68 Buzzy Eriksen (16), #00 Mike Bologna (24), #45 Anthony DeMonte (25), #6 Chris Mangels (27), #09 Jarrod Hayes (31), #72 Dennis Krupski (33), #39x Roger Oxee (DNS)
  Late Models saw Woody Pitkat take the feature win.  Long Islanders on hand included:  #26NY Tony Anello (14).

UPDATE(10/27/02 4:00PM):  Rusty Turbush has been diagnosed with a broken leg and #17x will be driven by #17x owner John Ellwood.

UPDATE(10/27/02 8:12PM):  Saturday's features were rained out.  All Saturday features will be run today.  A long day is ahead for Thompson competitors.

UPDATE(10/25/02 4:05PM):  #17x Late Model driver, Rusty Turbush is hurt.  Turbush was racing in practice when something broke and the driveshaft went through into the cockpit of the car.  Turbush was taken to the hospital for x-rays on his ankle.  Turbush also told his crew to get the car ready for later.
   Pro Stocks on hand already include RJ Oxee, and Greg Kleila as well as Modified driver J.R. Bertuccio are already setup.  More news to come about your favorite drivers from Riverhead venturing up to Thompson.
