NEETS MEMBERSHIP DRIVE HAS NOW
BEGUN:
The sport of Enduro racing is about to venture
into a new era. Who in the world would of thought that there
would have ever been a tour series formed especially for
one of the most un-recognized classes of cars at any track. The
Enduro cars until now have been the low guy on the totem pole. The
truth is....the fans love them and speedways need them. The
reality is....the are one of the biggest money makers at any track.
The fact is.....They are not given the recognition they deserve.
N.E.E.T.S. is....Giving them a place to feel appreciated.
2003 will be the first season that the
newly formed North East Enduro Tour Series will take to the tracks
in several different states in the Northeast. The tour will test the
skills of some of the best enduro drivers by sanctioning races of
both clay and asphalt at sizes ranging from tight 1/4 mile
bullrings to super fast 5/8 mile speedways. All races will run in
true enduro style. As of this date, they will be at 9 different
tracks for 12 races. Each race will award points for finishing
positions and a champion will be crowned at a season end banquet
where point fund monies and trophies will be awarded to the top ten
drivers. Other awards will also be given out and will be announced
at a later date.
The rules for the series were
recently finalized and are the incorporation of many different
"hometrack" rulebooks. The rules are very middle ground so
as each member from all the different tracks do not have to alter
their car from their own rules and be very competitive at each tour
race. Safety and costs were at the highest regard when writing the
new series rules.
Since the announcement of the
rules, N.E.E.T.S. has started a membership drive where drivers
wanting to sign up can purchase the 2003 license for $50 for a
limited time. When the drive is over, the price will resume at it's
regular $75. The rules and license application can be found on the website.
2003 is going to be "The
year of the Enduro" in many peoples eyes. It is going to be a
fun time for all involved. I especially want to thank
everybody that helped me make this a reality.
