INFORMATIONAL MEETINGS SET FOR 2003

Riverhead Raceway Chief Steward Bill Denniston announced today that he would conduct the annual Competitors Winter Meetings on Sunday January 19th at the Rodeway Inn in Plainview. Originally the date had been the week after January 26th, but the hotel is hosting a Super Bowl party and the meetings were moved up one week.

    The Competitors Winter Meetings have become a staple in auto racing on Long Island and it is highly recommended that everyone attend who plans on racing during the 2003 NASCAR Weekly Racing Series presented by Dodge at Riverhead. The time schedule for the January 19th get together is as follows; the Blunderbust class will meeting from 9:30 am until 10:30 pm, with the Chargers and Super Pro Trucks combining for their meeting from 10:45 am until 12:15 pm. After a lunch break from 12:30 until 1:00 pm, the Late Model and Figure Eight class will gather from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm, with the afternoon wrapping up with the NASCAR Modifieds having their meeting from 2:45 pm until 4:15 pm.

    The 2003 rules will be ready from the Riverhead Raceway office as of Monday December 2nd and owners and race teams should note there are no changes from the 2002 edition of the rulebook.
