RIVERHEAD RACEWAY RULES AND
NUMBERS AVAILABLE FOR 2003
It's
that time of the year again for owners and drivers planning on
competing in the 2003 NASCAR Weekly Racing Series presented by Dodge
at Riverhead Raceway to update their information for the new season.
Among the three topics that need updating
are the trailer response forms mailed out just prior to
Thanksgiving. Owners and drivers need to fill out that form to have
first chance at the pit stalls they had in 2002 - the deadline
for that form being returned to the Riverhead Raceway office is
February 9th. If a team does not fill out and return the form they
very well could find themselves in another pit stall in 2003. Teams
upgrading to enclosed or larger trailers also may have a new home in
2003 if indeed they cannot fit where they previously parked.
The 2003 rulebooks for all classes except
the NASCAR Modifieds are available by contacting the track office,
as well as the 2003 car numbers.
All teams need to either reregister their old car number or request
a new number for the new campaign. Even if a race team has had the
same number for 20 years they must call the office to request that
number again; it also serves as a great opportunity to verify your
current address and social security number.
Competitors are reminded of the 2003
Informational meetings set for the Rodeway Inn in Plainview on
Sunday, January 19th and they can bring the trailer response form to
that gathering if they desire. On that note, Chief Steward, Bill
Denniston, has also indicated he will hold an informational meeting
for the Enduro race teams in March in the Riverhead pit area during
the annual fuel cell inspections. Bill will announce those dates
just after the New Year.
The Riverhead Raceway office will be closed
for the annual Christmas and New Years holiday break from Friday,
December 20th until Thursday January 2nd. To contact the staff
