THREE PRESEASON INSPECTION DATES ANNOUNCED

Car owners and drivers looking to avoid long inspection lines prior to the two pre-season practice sessions at Riverhead Raceway will have a golden opportunity to do just that for the second year in a row. Chief Steward Bill Denniston and Chief Technical Inspector Walter Bonczyk have disclosed they'll be providing three inspection dates in late March and early April.
    Saturday March 29th, Sunday March 30th and Saturday April 5th will find the Riverhead Raceway inspections taking place in the pit area. Race teams are reminded that only race ready machines will be inspected, which is mandatory before a racecar hits the track on April 12th and April 19th for the pre-season practice session. Walter Bonczyk indicated that if weather conditions and temperatures were favorable, engines would be checked and sealed for 2003.
    In addition to Bonczyk who heads up the Riverhead Raceway Technical Inspectors, joining him during the 2003 season will again be his Assistant Bob Scordo, along with Ernie Keisling and Mike "Gravel" Buksa. New to the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series presented by Dodge roster of officials will be Robin Vollmoeller Sr., who decided to retire just after the 2002 campaign. "When I heard Robin was serious about retirement this time around I jumped at the chance to have him join us," said Bill Denniston. "He has way too much experience and knowledge to be sitting in the stands."
    While racecars are being given the once over March 29th, March 30th and April 5th, the Eastern Kart Racing Association will conduct their three warm-up sessions prior to their 2003 slate. Pit gates will open at 10:00 am on all three days.
    Denniston also noted that on Sunday March 30th he would meet with the Enduro race series competitors at 2:00 pm in the turn three midway area to go over their 2003 season. Bill is asking that as many of those who can attend to please do so.
