RIVERHEAD RACEWAY CHAMPS TO GET HOOSIER JACKETS
Long Island Hoosier Tire Distributor Mike
Cass announced recently that JYD Enterprises would present the
2003 NASCAR Weekly Racing Series presented by Dodge champions
with embroidered jackets. The presentation will take place at
the track's season ending awards banquet in the fall.
Cass also disclosed that all six
divisions at Riverhead Raceway would compete on the Hoosier
brand, as the Figure Eight class will now use a Hoosier Tire
after several seasons on the American Racer brand. Of course
the 2003 Hoosier Tire Championship jackets will be the
traditional Hoosier purple and will feature the champions name
and division.
At the winter informational meeting,
Bill Denniston, the new Chief Steward for 2003, disclosed that
Mike Cappiello would take over as the NASCAR Official in
charge at the Hoosier compound to work with Mike Cass and his
staff from JYD Enterprises.
The 2003 race season at Riverhead
Raceway will be previewed Saturday afternoon April 12th and
again Saturday April 19th with the traditional pre-season
practice sessions. Grandstand admission will once again
be free of charge and both sessions will commence at 12:00
noon.
