NEETS SCHEDULE READS LIKE A MOD TOUR
The
North East Enduro Tour Series has finalized its 2003 tour
series schedule. In it’s first season tour series
director/promoter, Billy Bartley, has spent the last few
months talking to track promoters, explaining his show, and
putting a lot of hard work into organizing a schedule that any
Mod tour would be proud of.
The best of the best enduro drivers from all over the
Northeast will be at 7 tracks for 11 races, all trying to win
the title of the first ever Northeast Enduro Champion.
The season will kick-off with a practice day at
Mountain speedway on Saturday, April 5th where all
enduro cars are welcome to test and tune their cars. Tour
licenses will be available for purchase and a NEETS meeting
will be held in the afternoon. Mountain speedway, Pa. will
start the season off with the NEETS season opener on May 18th
with a 150 lap enduro for the PRO-Enduros and a 100 lap 4cyl
car/truck enduro. The tour then will hit the first of two much
anticipated high car count dates at Wall Township speedway NJ
on June 1st, joining the R.o.C. Mod tour for a 150
lap Pro-Enduro. June will also host a 150 lap PRO-Enduro/100
lap 4cyl car/truck enduro at Mahoning Valley Speedway, Pa on
the 29th. The
July 4th holiday will have the tour at Accord
speedway, NY for a 100 lap PRO-Enduro for its first dirt track
race. Then it is back to NJ at Wall Township on July 13th
where the 4cyl car/truck enduros will join us for a 100 lap
race along with 150 laps of PRO-Enduro racing. We will again
join the R.o.C. tour at the
big ½ mile of Tioga Motorsports Park, NY on July 27th
for a super fast 100 lap PRO-Enduro. The double point
Mid-season championship on August 3rd will show
Mountain speedway as host for this important event because of
its transponder scoring system. It will be a 150 lap event
plus a 100 lap 4cyl car/truck enduro.
Mahoning Valley Speedway is next on the schedule with a
150 PRO-Enduro and another 4cyl car/truck enduro on August 24th.
More exciting Dirt action will follow with the famed 5/8 mile
of Orange County Fair Speedway, NY
(OCFS) being first, the only race “under the
lights” on the tour taking place on Saturday night September
6th for a super fast 100 lapper. Following on
September 14th, a 150 lap at the newly re-opened
3/8 mile dirt track of Redline Raceway, Pa. Finally a champion
will be determined where it all began. A double point giant
250 lap Pro-Enduro and a 100 lap 4cyl car/truck enduro will be
hosted by Mountain speedway on October 12th .
In
November, the first annual North East Enduro Tour Series will
hold its awards banquet at the Best Western/ Genetti lodge in
Hazleton, Pa where the series Champion will be crowned, the
top ten in points will receive their trophies, share in the
series points fund and other awards will be handed out.
The NEETS tour, if anything, is going to make a big
impact on the sport of racing this year. This series is going
to try and organize the sport of enduro racing in the
Northeast for the drivers and tracks…while putting on a
GREAT show for the fans. It will prove that you do not have to
be a high dollar class of cars to give the fans what they
want…3, 4, and 5 wide racing with non-stop action right to
the checkered flag. So when you hear the NEETS tour is coming
to a track near you…it is a SHOW not to be missed.
