ENDUROS TO BE SPLIT
INTO TWO

With the onset of the splitting of the
Enduros into two divisions, Grand and Stock, new rules have
come about. Here are the
following UNOFFICIAL rule changes:
Grand Enduros:
- 7”
Wide Rims Stock Steel OR Racing Rims
- Tires
are to be in the 70’s series, such as example: 225/78X15-225/75X15 or 225/70X15
- Rub
rails will be allowed but only between the wheel base
only. 1
3/4" max round tube or 3” x 1/4" max flat
steel welded to the body. No lower than center hubs and no higher than the tire.
Must be tight against body with no sharp ends.
- Stock
springs and shocks in their original position
- Fuel
cells allowed to be reinforced for safety reasons
- 6
Point rollcage with the rear rollcage bars not to go past
the middle of the center of the rear axle bend in the
frame.
- Regular
windshields
- Fuel
Cut-Off not mandatory
- Stock
or locked rears
- Engines:
No specific rules, but obvious outside components
such as carburetors, distributors, exhaust, intake
manifolds. NO
ELI
- NO
electric fans
- NO
antifreeze
- Fuel-injected
cars have to have an electrical supply cut-off switch.
- No
additional vacuum (booster) storage containers for brakes.
- No
brake-proportioning valve.
- Bumpers
allowed to be cut, but no sharp edges.
Stock Enduros:
- Everything
stays the same as current existing Enduro rules
- Except:
additional safety equipment will be allowed and NO
locked rears
- Any
motors with ANY question of doubt of being stock will be
torn down.
- All
tires must have the same rims and sizes.
Other Notes:
- Pro
Enduros may have a rolling start
- A
coin may be flipped to determine the direction of the
race, i.e. clockwise or counterclockwise.
- Scoring
will be under heavy scrutiny as Riverhead will have enough
scorers to watch over 50 scorers.
- No
NEETS races.
