TRAILER
TRANSPORT TO BACK MODIFIEDS AND TRUCKS
Riverhead
Raceway officials announced today that long time NASCAR
Modified and Super Pro Truck seasonal sponsor Trailer
Transport of Westbury will return in that capacity with those
two classes for 2003. Both divisions will be part of the big
opening night program Barbara and Jim Cromarty have slated for
Saturday April 26th.
Trailer Transport will add money to
both the NASCAR Modified and Super Pro Truck purses in 2003, a
role they have played for many a season with both divisions.
Trailer Transport hauls and sets-up mobile and modular
trailers that are used as offices or on construction sights.
Bill Denniston who alongwith his wife Ellen owns and operates
Trailer Transport was named to the Chief Steward position at
Riverhead in November. Since his seasonal sponsorship
had been in place for several seasons there is no reason to
change the format for 2003.
The NASCAR Modifieds will run a 35-lap
main event on opening night with a star-studded field expected
to compete not only during the lid lifter, but all spring and
summer long. A 20-lap feature is on tap for the Super Pro
Truck troops and the "tailgate" brigade is hopeful
for a good season also.
The Trailer Transport night for the
trucks will be May 17th, while the "mod squad" will
race for the Trailer Transport hardware on June 21st.
Rounding out the six-division opening
night card will be the Late Models, Figure Eights, Chargers
and Blunderbusts. Qualifying will start at 4:30 pm, with the
feature events set for a 6:30 pm start.
