RACING WRITER WINS PLACE IN CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE NASCAR SOUL

Raceway Media contributing writer, Mike fields, wrote a true and personal story that was accepted for publication in Chicken Soup for the NASCAR Soul, which is scheduled to be released April 24th 2003. Mike’s contribution, “Learning From Dylan”, was selected from thousands of potential stories to be included in the internationally acclaimed Chicken Soup for the Soul series. His remarkable story recounts how a young man with cerebral palsy was given a very special night at Riverhead Raceway and subsequently all those who attended the races. Mike’s story, along with the ones written by his fellow contributors, shares the mystery and wonder of racecar driving and the colorful personalities who win our hearts on the track.

Besides writing this story for Chicken Soup for the NASCAR Soul, Mike Fields is a contributing writer for Raceway Media Magazine, is on the Board of Directors of Racing 4 Kids Children's Charities, writes the on-line Island Hopping column for his own Long Island Motorsports News website at www.LongIslandMotorsports.com, and is the owner of Racers' PR & Motorsports Marketing.

Chicken Soup for the Soul has teamed up with NASCAR to celebrate America’s fastest growing sport with the release of Chicken Soup for the NASCAR Soul.  Winning driver Michael Waltrip says, “Life is a team sport” and, indeed, auto racing is a metaphor for life.  We all need the support and love of our own pit crew to keep us on track and in winning form as we go through our own race every day.
