RIVERHEAD RACEWAY READYING FOR FMS MILLER LITE 200 JUNE 7TH

    Once Riverhead Raceway fans get their first viewing of the race schedule for the new season, one of the dates they look for are the two visits of the NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series to Barbara and Jim Cromarty's historic oval. Fans are eagerly awaiting the first of the 2003 visits on Saturday June 7th when the NASCAR FMS stars will compete in the Miller Lite 200.

    If the 2002 edition of the Miller Lite 200 is any indication of what to expect in 2003, then fans might want to wear comfortable shoes because they'll be standing an awful lot. Ted Christopher of Plainville won the 2002 Miller Lite 200, but the tough veteran really thought he was headed for a third place tally. Ahead of him Rick Fuller of Auburn, Ma and Riverhead talent J.R. Bertuccio of Centereach were slugging it out for the lead while they picked their way through lapped traffic. With fewer than 50 laps to go Bertuccio and Fuller made contact sending both into a spin, allowing Christopher who was fighting a car with a bent left front wheel to speed by for victory.

    The 2003 Miller Lite 200 will again pit the best of the touring NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series against the talented Riverhead Raceway NASCAR Modified field, by far the toughest the FMS regulars go up against anywhere on the circuit. Will Rick Fuller and his new team, TG Racing, avenge the 2002 Miler Lite 200 heartbreak? Will J.R. Bertuccio score his first career FMS win? Can Ted Christopher repeat in the Miller Lite 200? Or will another FMS regular or maybe a Riverhead Raceway talent take the victory?

    For the answers to these questions and many others make your plans to be on hand at Riverhead Raceway Saturday June 7th for the Miller Lite 200 on U.S. Marine Corps and Berryman night.

    Joining the NASCAR Featherlite Modifieds will be the Charger and Blunderbust divisions.  Qualifying starts at 4:30 pm and feature events go green at 6:30 pm.
