FIREWORKS SPECTACULAR
SET FOR RIVERHEAD RACEWAY JULY 5TH
It's
a time tested tradition that a huge Fireworks display is
presented around the Fourth of July Independence Day holiday
at Riverhead Raceway and 2003 will be no exception.
Barbara and Jim Cromarty have set Saturday July 5th aside to
light up the night sky. A great line-up of NASCAR Dodge Weekly
Series racing will be presented along with a night ending
Demolition Derby.
The July 5th program will be a very
important one for the NASCAR Modifieds who will compete in the
annual Cromarty Cup 50. The race will carry those much sought
after double points and feature time trial qualifying. J.R.
Bertuccio of Centereach who held the hot hand early in 2003
winning the first three races of the year will be the man to
beat in the Cromarty Cup 50. Out to derail his smooth ride
will be Frank Vigliarolo Jr., Bill Park, John Fortin, Ed
Brunnhoelzl Jr., Mike Andrews Jr., and Chris Young.
Filling out the NASCAR Dodge Weekly
Series action will be the famous Figure Eight stock cars,
Chargers and Blunderbusts.
Once the sky is deemed dark enough,
the track lights will be doused and Zambelli International
Pyrotechnics will set off an aerial Fireworks show second to
none on Long Island or for that matter in the tri-state area.
To conclude the night with a bang so
to speak will be a bone jarring and car destroying Demolition
Derby. All the top names in Demolition Derby action will be
ready to thrill young and old alike as Jimmy "Wildman
Primmy" Hummel, Bob "Whiplash" Genovese,
"Irish" Mike O'Keefe and Tim "Hammer"
Smith will slug it out until only one car stands.
Time trials for the NASCAR Modifieds
will kick-off qualifying at 4:30 PM, while the feature events
take to the track at 6:30 PM. For more information please call
