NEETS
ADDS "FACTORY STOCK" CLASS TO IT'S FORMAT
North East Enduro Tour Series promoter Billy Bartley would
like to announce the addition of a "Factory stock"
class as part of the show he takes on the road to some of the
premier speedways in Pa, NY and NJ. They will run in the same
race with the already sanctioned "Pro-Enduros" that
are built to the NEETS rules with a separate purse and point
system.
Many tracks that have Enduro type cars limit them
to " little or no modifications". These cars have
entered into NEETS races but could not compete with the faster
"Pro-cars". With this divided division, the
"Factory stocks" will be only competing against each
other in the same race similar to the GTA/GTP Trans Am series.
The first stock across the line is the winner no matter what
position he finishes in the race.
"This will not only give these drivers a
chance at winning the cash and trophies for the top positions
in their own class but it will also pick up the car counts and
create a better show for our fans" says Billy B. He adds
" I have many plans to improve my series, this is just
one of them...we ( the tour) are still in our infancy and
will keep improving the show until I am satisfied that the
fans have gotten the best show possible". " We pick
up new cars at each track we visit and I get many drivers
asking me how to join the tour". This is our building
year and by the way things are going, I project 2004 will be a
great season".
The "Factory stocks" must be bonestock
cars...just as they came from the factory with no engine, drive
train or suspension modifications. The only additions to the
cars will be the rollcages and safety equipment. Anything
other than "year, make and model" stock will be
cause to send them up to the Pro ranks. Also Bartley says
" If one driver wins 2 races in one season in the stock
class or wins one overall event, he will have to move
up".
NEETS will award points toward the championship
points fund to the Pro class, the Factory stock class and
overall points. The Factory stock champion could in fact place
a top ten finish in points for the overall series at the
season end NEETS banquet and take home two awards.
The NEETS
series has put on some great shows thus far and is growing by
the week. Sunday, July 27th the tour will be at Tioga
Motorsports park for a 100 lap race and will be visiting other
speedways such as Mountain Speedway, Pa. Mahoning Valley
Speedway, Pa Wall Township speedway, NJ. Kauneonga Raceway,
NY, and Orange County Fairgrounds Speedway,NY on it's 2003
schedule. Some of the events will also host the 4cyl car/truck
divisions.
