SCHOOL BUSES TO GET BUSY IN AUGUST AT RIVERHEAD RACEWAY

     The first two weeks of August at Riverhead Raceway will find the Full Size School Buses getting very active.  They'll race in a Figure Eight race on August 9th and the following week, August 16th, in a no hold barred Demolition Derby. Both events will take place after the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series stock cars thrill the fans both nights.
    Saturday, August 9th, will be Glidden night as part of the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series that will find the NASCAR Modifieds running for the Bob's Store trophy. The Bob's Store Night main event will kick-off the stretch run towards the 2003 championship with John Fortin, Chuck Steuer, Wayne Anderson, Tom Rogers Jr., Frank Vigliarolo Jr. and defending champion J.R. Bertuccio all in the hunt.
    Rounding out the night will be the Late Models, Figure Eights, Blunderbusts and Super Pro Trucks. Just prior to the School Bus race the Train Race teams will warm-up the Figure Eight course. Once they complete their race the larger than life Full Size School Buses will hit the Figure Eight course for a wild and unpredictable race.
    The August 9th and 10th weekend is a doubleheader at the quarter mile oval, as on Sunday afternoon it will be the Enduro Series cars and stars. Joining the Grand Enduro will be the 8-Cylinder, 4 Cylinder, 4/6 Cylinder Truck Enduros with a Car Rollover Contest and One-On-One Spectator Drags rounding out the day.
    The following week it will be Miller Lite night with a 25-lap Figure Eight main event highlighting the card. Joining them will be the NASCAR Modifieds, Late Models, a double point 20-lap Charger feature and the Super Pro Trucks. Once all the NASCAR action is in the record books then the Full Size School Buses will take to the track for an all out, wall-to-wall war in a Demolition Derby competition.
    Heats races will start at 4:30 pm both August 9th and 16th with feature events racing going green at 6:30 pm. Further information can be head by dialing 631-842-RACE or visiting our website at www.riverheadraceway.com.
