BIGFOOT TO
HEAD UP MONSTER TRUCK INVASION AT RIVERHEAD
The extremely
popular Labor Day weekend invasion of the Monster Trucks is
nearing at Barbara and Jim Cromarty's Riverhead Raceway.
Saturday night, August 30th and Sunday afternoon, August 31st
have been set aside for this thunderous performance. The
NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series will join Bigfoot and other Monster
Trucks on Saturday, while Sunday it's the Enduro cars and
stars along with the Super Pro Trucks on the slate.
Track officials want to remind owners
and drivers in both the Blunderbusts and the Super Pro Trucks
of the schedule change made back in July. The Blunderbusts
originally set for racing on Sunday will revert back to
Saturday action with the Super Pro Trucks going to Sunday
racing instead of Saturday over Labor Day weekend.
The Monster Trucks will compete in
freestyle and wheelie competition with Bigfoot headlining the
action. Thrasher and Towasaurus Wrex will be on hand as well
to see if they can outscore the most famous Monster Truck in
the world. The three trucks will be crushing cars in the
infield and by the time they get done those cars will be
flatter than your morning pancakes. Another popular aspect of
the weekend will be the return of the Monster Ride Truck.
This is open to the public for a small fee and offers fans
young and old alike the thrill of a lifetime.
Joining the Monster Trucks Saturday
evening will be the Eagle Chevrolet night action for the
NASCAR Modifieds who'll race the Fleet Bank 35-lap feature
event. Also on the U.S. Army Recruitment night card are the
Late Models, Figure Eights, Chargers and Blunderbusts. After
all the racing and crushing of cars has been completed the
second Demolition Derby for the full size cars will bring the
curtain crashing down on the thrill a minute program.
The mayhem will continue Sunday
afternoon with the Super Pro Trucks racing a 20-lap main event
prior to a full slate of Enduro racing. The Grand Enduro will
be joined by an 8-Cylinder, 4-Cylinder and 4/6-Cylinder Truck
Enduro with One-On-One Spectator Drags set for competition as
well. In the event of rain Sunday that show will be presented
Monday September 1st, Labor Day.
Action will go green Saturday evening
August 30th with qualifying races at 4:00 pm, with feature
event racing hitting the track at 6:00 pm. On Sunday racing
starts at 12:30 pm.
