SATURDAY RAIN JUMBLES RIVERHEAD SLATE FOR FINAL TWO WEEKS

Just as the cars were hitting the track for practice this past Saturday rain moved in and put a halt to the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series program at Riverhead Raceway. The wash out forces Barbara and Jim Cromarty and staff to make several changes for the final two shows of the season.
The NASCAR Modifieds who were to run their final race in the 2003 NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series this past week have been added to the show this Saturday, September 20th. They'll run a 35-lap feature event paying out both track and NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series points as the window on the series does not close until midnight on Sunday.
The 50-lap Charger, 50-lap Blunderbust and 25-lap Figure Eight feature will remain on the September 20th card and their races will remain non-point races as far as track points are concerned. However the Figure Eight and Charger classes will earn NASCAR points only, this due to a NASCAR sanction needed for the Modified portion of the show.
The National Demolition Derby Championship and the School Bus Demolition Derby will remain on the Miller Lite night slate this Saturday as well. The pits will open at 11:00 am, with warm-ups at 1:00 pm and qualifying at 3:00 pm. The feature events will start right after qualifying with no break.
If hurricane Isabel hits the east coast and effects the weather on Long Island this Saturday, September 20th, there is no rain date for this show.
The Kings Cup 46 Super Pro Truck race originally set for this Saturday, September 20th has been moved back one week to Saturday September 27th. Also moved back to the final show of the year are the Late Model and Charger make-up races from Saturday, August 30th. A full card of Enduro racing was already set for the 27th and will remain intact on that night.
On September 27th the pit gates will open at 12:00 noon and time trials for the Kings Cup 46 will go green at 3:00 pm. Then the Late Model and Charger make-up races will go green and be followed by the SPT feature. All three of those races are track point races!
The 27th show will have a Sunday rain date and if Mother Nature washes out Saturday, that entire program shifts to Sunday, September 28th with pits opening at 10:00 am and racing going green at 12:30 pm sharp.
