TICKET PRICES REDUCED FOR RIVERHEAD RACEWAY AWARDS BANQUET

Barbara and Jim Cromarty announced recently that tickets for the Riverhead Raceway NASCAR Dodge Series victory celebration have been reduced in price for the Saturday November 8th affair at the Melville Marriott. The price of a ticket will be some $20 less that the 2002 banquet and was made possible by the elimination of the four hour open bar.
"Over the years many race teams have approached Barbara and Jim or myself and asked why they should pay for the open bar when in fact they don't drink" Bob Finan disclosed. In fact 2003 Charger champion "Dynamite" Dan Turbush was just one of many who voiced that very concern. "Cash bars will be open during the banquet to accommodate those who do wish to indulge" Finan noted "of course many teams will take advantage of the $149 room rate and still have their pre and post banquet parties".
The 2003 champions from the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series will be feted for their season including NASCAR modified champion John Fortin of Holtsville. John won his second crown in three years at the tough quarter mile oval. Tom Rogers Jr. of Patchogue will collect his second straight Figure Eight title, with Eugene Malverty of Lindenhurst in the Blunderbusts doing the same. "Dynamite" Dan Turbush will be honored for his second career Charger championship.
As of press time Glenn Tyler of Hampton Bays and Roger Oxee of Peconic still have to settle the Late Model title on September 27th, with the Super Pro Truck championship to be decided among Danny Grennan of Glen Cove, Lou Maestri of Deer Park and Dave Brigati of Baiting Hollow that same evening.
The top five in each class will receive trophies, with the top ten to walk away with a point fund check from the 2003 Riverhead Raceway point fund. Of course there will be plenty of special awards to be dished out at the elegant banquet which features a full course, soup to nuts sit down dinner served right at your table.
Tickets are now available at the Riverhead Raceway office, which is located year round at 1732 Great Neck Road in Copiague, just south of Sunrise Highway and North of Merrick Road. Please call 631-842-RACE for further information.
