RAIN SHIFTS
LONG ISLAND SWAP SHOP TO NOVEMBER 16
Just as the Long
Island Automotive Swap Shop was kicking into gear on Sunday
October 26th light rain began to fall over Riverhead Raceway
and get heavier as time passed forcing the event to be
postponed until Sunday November 16th. Also lost in the rain
was the Custom Car and Hot Rod Show and Eastern Kart Racing
Association Go-Kart event, both also will be run November
16th.
After waiting nearly two hours for the
rain to let up Bill Denniston threw in the towel on the events
scheduled. Those in both the Swap Shop and Custom Car Show
portion of the show who already paid entry fees on Sunday will
be re-admitted on November 16th as officials took their names
down. If you also still have your wristband it's recommended
you bring it with you as back up, but it's not required.
As for the Eastern Kart Racing
Association which was attempting to make-up two race dates on
October 26th, the November 16th weekend is now a doubleheader.
On Saturday November 15th the races that remained to be made
up from Columbus Day weekend will be run, with a full regular
card of racing on Sunday the 16th. A busy two days indeed for
the E.K.R.A. troops.
Vendor space remains $20 for the Swap
Shop, while it's just a $10 entry fee for the Custom Car and
Hot Rod Show on November 16th. Admission for those just coming
in to look around will be $5.
