Ken Woolley, Jr. lost the engine in Thursday practice and
was helping out Tim Arre.

Scott Riggleman finished 5th in the Pro Truck heat.

Willis brought out his familiar orange #62 to race the
North vs. South Shootout.

- Donny
Lia and Mike Andrews, Jr. had backup cars on hand just in
case they were needed. Andrews
took advantage of his guaranteed starter status to make
the field after a dismal heat finish.
- Former
Long Island resident George Brunnhoelzl III #2 went high
to avoid a loose Jerry Marquis in his heat and made heavy
contact with the front stretch wall. Marquis and
Brunnhoelzl were in positions two and three respectively
when it occurred. George's car has tiny number 8's after
his number 2's to honor the number "28"
that his father ran for many years.
- Bo
Gunning #12 was involved in a multi car incident with one
lap in on the backstretch during the first heat, but he
continued on after a pit visit.
- Wally
Schweizer was out with his gray #88 after limited
appearances recently.
- John
Betts was in competition with his red Vintage Modified #14
and finished 3rd in his heat.
- Robin
Vollmoeller was seen pit side and in the grandstands as
well.

- Daren
Scherer returned to action after starting a SMART race
last month here.
- Former
NY resident and Tioga competitor Steve Zacharias was in
the #22z ride of his Uncle Terry Zacharias. Steve also
comepted in the Pro Truck division with the white #43 and
his heat finish was 4th; he had started on the pole.

- Ronnie
Silk has his Uncle Randy LaJoie's company Joie of Seating
on his #83.
- The
Ralph Solhem #8 scheduled to be driven by Ed Kennedy
instead had three- time NASCAR Craftsman truck winner this
season Carl Edwards doing the driving. Silk nosed out
Edwards in the second heat for 4th spot on the last lap.
- Bobby
Santos III was scheduled to be in the Boehler #34, but he
lost an engine and left the track.
Other News & Notes
- Several
drivers did some ride hopping. Bob Park had problems with
his yellow #49 mount and took over one of the Joe Brady
#00 cars there and had it renumbered to his number. Rob
Summers was in the other Brady #00 after being entered in
the #11. Frank Fleming was in the Danny Baker #38 after
being entered in the #07. Jimmy Blewett was in the #66
instead of the #78 he was entered with.
- Multiple
numbers were common as in one heat alone there were
two #30's and two #71's. Three #3's, three #14's with two
left for Friday action after Eric Beers blew the engine in
his ride, two #99's, two #5's, two #81's, two #83's, two
#22's, two #12's, two #10's, three #00's with two left
after Bob Park had one renumbered, and two #66's were
present. The Lia #18 and Andrews #10 backup cars weren't
figured into that.
- Tony
Hirschman and Sege Fidanza were the two guaranteed
starters to not appear, but Fidanza wasn't even entered.
The 4 other guaranteed starters appeared with three making
the show through time trials and heat action. Mike
Andrews, Jr. was the only driver to fall back on his
status as a guaranteed starter.
- 61
Modifieds were pit side for Thursday practice. 56 cars
were there on Friday with 54 taking part in time trials
and heat action.
