RIVERHEAD COMPETITOR'S MEETING JANUARY 25TH

    Riverhead Raceway Chief Steward Bill Denniston announced the date today for the annual Competitors Winter Meeting for the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series, as well a new location for the gathering. The 2004 edition of the informational meetings is set for Sunday January 25th and will now take place at the Polish Hall in Riverhead.
    The meeting since its inception had been held at a location in Plainview, but that facility has been undergoing a major facelift so the move east to the Polish Hall in Riverhead was made necessary. The hall is located at 214 Marcy Avenue in Riverhead, right in the middle of what Long Islander's have come to know as "Polish Town USA". For directions contact the Polish Hall at 631-727-9200.
    The schedule for the Competitors Winter Meeting set by Denniston and his assistant Wayne Shortmeyer are as follows, Blunderbusts from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, then the Chargers/Super Pro Trucks from 11:15 until 12:30 pm. After a lunch break for the Riverhead Raceway NASCAR Officials the afternoon will resume with the Late Modes/Figure Eights from 2:15 until 3:45 pm and round out with the NASCAR Modifieds from 4:00 until 5:30 pm.
    As in the past race teams are reminded this is not a rules meeting, rather an informational gathering so any changes in staff or race night procedures can be disclosed among other subjects.
