SWEEPS WEEK FOR MATLACH
Despite rain falling everywhere
else in the tri-state area, rain eluded Wall Township Speedway and a
relatively mild day presented some great racing action on Friday,
and the action returned on a sunny brisk Saturday.
Brian Doyle brought his #73 Charger
out to run with the Pro Stocks and despite a few incidents, he
managed to pull off 9th and 8th.
Super Pro Truck Champion, Danny
Grennan, brought out Michael Bologna's #00 as #38 and had mechanical
woes throughout the day Friday.
The story of the day would be former
Riverhead Modified competitor, Ken Matlach, as he would debut a
brand new #34 Matlach Fabrications Pontiac and he would roast the
field by coming from all the way in the 13th to take down the
victory on Friday, and all the way from the back of the pack to do
it again Saturday.
