PERNESIGLIO ENTERS ATLANTIC CITY INDOOR
RACE
Northeastern Midget Association veteran Pete Pernesiglio of
Ronkonkoma, NY will be returning to the Atlantic City Indoor
Race at the famed Broadwalk Hall on Jan. 9-10 with two
Three-Quarter Midgets. Pernesiglio and Connecticut’s Chris
Derosier have entered a new Suzuki-powered car as well as a
Rotax-powered machine.
The pair came to Atlantic City a year in the Rotax but the
effort was cut short by the passing of Pernesiglio’s
maternal grandmother Regina Buckley. Pernesiglio hopes to
dedicate a strong finish to his late grandmother.
NEMA will also be represented by 2003 champion Joey Payne of
Fairlawn, NJ who will drive a new Shadow car for Brit
Anderson of Branford, CT.
Pernesiglio, who drives for his father (also Pete), finished
strong and wound up ninth in the final NEMA standings. He
posted his third career win at Oxford Plains.
Friday night, the top 40 qualifiers will battle in out through
four heat races, two consolations and a 30-lap feature.
Saturday’s format will follow the traditional E-D-C-B-A main
format that was used last year.
