MILLER
LITE AND RIVERHEAD RACEWAY MARK 20TH ANNIVERSARY IN '04
It's
a marketing partnership that started back in 1985 when
Riverhead Raceway switched to it's current Saturday night
format and in 2004 Miller Lite and the Cromarty family will
enjoy their 20th year together. The very special season of
NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series competition will kick-off with
Miller Lite night on Saturday April 24th featuring a six for
one race program.
"Since we started at Riverhead
Raceway in 1985 our relationship with Barbara and Jim Cromarty
and their entire family and staff has just been
remarkable" Al Frazer, Director of Marketing for Boening
Brothers reflected. Boening is the Long Island distributor for
Miller Lite and other Miller Brewing Company products.
"Every year our marketing
partnership has grown and has become one of our most
successful, not just on Long Island, but the tri-state area as
well" Frazer concluded.
Deborah Cromarty-Hallahan, speaking on
behalf of Riverhead Raceway noted, "working with the
Boening family, Al Frazer and their staff has been one of the
most pleasant and positive experiences in my years of
business".
The 2004 Miller Lite sponsorship
package will mirror that of the past few seasons, as they'll
be a seasonal sponsor for the NASCAR Modified, Figure Eight
and Demolition Derby divisions. Along with the April 24th
Miller Lite night there will be two additional such evenings
on Saturday August 21st and again on Saturday September 18th,
part of the National Demolition Derby championship program.
The signature event of the annual
Miller Lite marketing effort will once again be the Miller
Lite 200 for the NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series on
Saturday June 5th. The 2003 edition of the Miller Lite 200,
pushed back to August, served as the first career win on the
series for Donny Lia of Merrick who then raced to the 2003 FMS
Rookie of the Year.
Miller Lite and Miller Genuine Draft
will continue to be the brands served at the quarter mile
oval's refreshment stands.
The Miller Lite opening night 2004 will
find the NASCAR Modifieds highlighting the card and will be
joined by the Late Models, Figure Eights, Chargers,
Blunderbusts and Super Pro Trucks.
Qualifying will commence at 4:30 pm
and the feature events will go green at 6:30 pm. For
