DEMOLITION DERBY "BUFFET" SERVED AT RIVERHEAD RACEWAY IN 2004

If you like Demolition Derby action sprinkled in with your great NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series racing then Riverhead Raceway will be the place for you in 2004. Barbara and Jim Cromarty have cooked up a virtual buffet of all shapes and sizes of Demolition Derby smashing and crashing for the new season.

The standard fare of Demolition Derbies on Long Island over the years has been for the full size vehicles that more often than not carried an 8 Cylinder Engine. However over the last few seasons that has changed to include everything from 4 Cylinder machines right up to full size School Buses and for 2004 the Cromarty's will throw three new twists into the mix!
The 2004 Demolition Derby campaign will start off with the first ever 6 Cylinder Demolition Derby on Saturday May 29th. These 6 cylinder cars are not quite strong or large enough for an 8-cylinder event, but of course too big for the 4 cylinder demo. A Full Size School Bus Figure Eight race will also be offered on May 29th, which makes for a wild start to the Memorial Day weekend.

A traditional 8 Cylinder Demolition Derby will see all the heavyweights come out on Saturday, June 26th, which also will find the Mini School Bus Figure Eight race on tap.

For the first time ever on Long Island a Police Car Demolition Derby will have fans young and old alike on the edge of their seats Saturday July 3rd, which will also be the Independence Day Fireworks spectacular. Anyone who has gotten a ticket from his or her local police will surely enjoy this history-making contest.

Three weeks later the Mini School Buses will be destroyed in a Demolition Derby on the annual "Night of Thrills Saturday July 24th. The 4 Cylinder cars will get a chance to crash on Saturday night August 14th marking the third year for this wild event.

The very next week the giant Full Size School Buses will have their first of two Demolition Derbies August 21st, with the second set for Saturday September 18th. These are two not to be missed dates for sure.
Another history making Demolition Derby will unfold on Monster Truck weekend, as Saturday September 4th a Taxi Cab Demolition Derby will take place.

The "granddaddy" of them all, the National Demolition Derby Championship will crown the best of the best on Saturday evening September 18th and be joined by the second Full Size School Bus Demo on Miller Lite night.

If it's metal crunching, bone jarring and car destroying desert you crave after a full plate of NASCAR stock car racing, then circle those dates and several more in 2004 at Riverhead Raceway.
