HILLBILLY RACING ADDS SECOND TEAM FOR '04

Westfield, North Carolina (March 12, 2004) – Hillbilly Racing has announced that Fred Vordermeier of Bayside, NY will drive the #97 Hill Enterprises Pontiac in select events during the 2004 Featherlite Modified Series season.

Hillbilly Racing has established itself as one of the top teams on the Modified Series over the past few years with Southington, CT driver Ed Flemke Jr. in the #79 Ron Bouchard’s Auto Stores Pontiac. Flemke will once again drive the team’s primary entry for the full 2004 season.

Vordermeier will make his 2004 debut in the series opener at Thompson, CT on April 4th. He made two starts for Hillbilly Racing in 2003, including a top ten finish at New Hampshire International Speedway in September. Team Manager David Hill is excited about the addition of Vordermeier to the team. “I believe Fred has the potential to be one of the top young drivers in this series,” said Hill. “This addition makes a very good team even better.”

Although only 30 years old, Vordermeier has been competing on the Featherlite Modified Series since 1999 as the driver of the #04 E.J. Davies Chevrolet. His best series finish to date was a 2nd place at Beach Ridge Speedway in July of 2002. Vordermeier echoes Hill’s excitement for the upcoming season. “This is a great opportunity for me to work with one of the top teams in Modified racing,” said Vordermeier. “I can’t wait for the season to begin.”

The Featherlite Modified Series begins with the 150-lap Icebreaker at Thompson International Speedway in Thompson, CT on April 4th. It is the first of 19 races on the 2004 schedule.
