NEW YORK METRO
PETERBILT RENEWS WITH BLUNDERBUSTS
Week in and
week out the stars of the Blunderbust division of the NASCAR
Dodge Weekly Series entertain the faithful fans of Riverhead
Raceway and it was announced today that New York Metro
Peterbilt would be returning with the popular class for 2004
as a seasonal sponsor.
An active marketing partner with
Riverhead Raceway since 1997, New Metro Peterbilt will once
again add money to the Blunderbust purse on a weekly basis in
2004. Hands down the weekly 20-lap feature events for the
Blunderbusts are always highly competitive, featuring a
combination of great racing and unpredictability.
New York Metro Peterbilt boasts
two locations at 18 Central Avenue in Hauppauge as well 31-31
123rd St in Flushing, Queens and they will host their night at
the races on Saturday June 19th.
Eugene Malverty is the two-time
defending champion in the Blunderbusts and although he would
not defend his crown, indications are he indeed will. Among
those out to dethrone Malverty will be Bobb Gardner, Chris
Chirico, Kevin Clarke, Anthony Aiello, Doug Watson, Chris
Busick and Tommy Walkowiak.
The Blunderbusts waste no time getting
down to serious business on opening night April 24th, as
they'll race in a 30-lap, double point feature event. A full
card of NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series competition will also be
presented featuring the NASCAR Modifieds, Late Models, Figure
Eights, Chargers and Super Pro Trucks.
Qualifying will commence at 4:30 pm
and feature event racing will go green at 6:30 pm.
