RIVERHEAD
TO HOST FATHER'S DAY DOUBLEHEADER
The
third doubleheader weekend of the 2004 Riverhead Raceway
season is upon us this Saturday June 19th and Father's Day
Sunday June 20th. The NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series stock cars
will be in action Saturday, while the Enduro series takes
control of the quarter mile facility on Sunday.
Joining the five division NASCAR
program on Saturday will be the annual exhibition of the
Eastern Kart Racing Association, as the various classes that
run the series will run in front of the NASCAR fans.
It will be Eagle Chevrolet night for
the Late Models who will run a regular 25-lap main event,
while the Blunderbusts run on New York Metro Peterbilt night
in a 20-lap affair. The Charger troops will run in their
second 30-lap double point feature of 2004 complete with time
trial qualifying. Rounding out the five-division program will
be the NASCAR Modifieds and Figure Eights.
Qualifying will commence with time
trials for the Chargers at 4:30 pm, with heats for all other
divisions to follow. The feature events will commence at
approximately 6:00 pm.
Just over 12 hours later Sunday will
find the Fathers Day Enduros on tap, with the Super Pro Trucks
seeing action in their second afternoon card in a 20-lap main
event. A full menu of Enduros will be offered including the
Grand Enduro, the 8-Cylinder, 6-Cylinder, 4-Cylinder and 4/6
Cylinder Truck Enduros all doing battle. A Car Rollover
Contest and One-On-One Spectator Drags will also be presented.
The Father's Day races are a great way
to spend the afternoon with Dad and the card should be
completed between 4:30 and 5:30 pm, allowing spectators to
then take their Father to one of the many great local
restaurants in the Riverhead area making for a full day and
evening.
The Sunday show will start at 12:30 pm
and a Sunday June 27th rain date is in effect if needed.
