NEETS
TO HOLD RACING FOR SMILES EVENT
It was just announced that NEETS will
hold a “Racing For Smiles” event October 10th
at Mountain Speedway along with the NEETS Tour “Bartley
Racing Enterprises 250” grand finale event.
Two children are in the works for attendance along with
their families. Most
of the NEETS drivers plan to have goodies for the youngsters,
and they are very excited about meeting the kids and signing
autographs.
What is Racing For Smiles?
The best description is taken directly fom their
website, www.racingforsmiles.org.
It reads: “Racing
for Smiles" was founded in 1997 by Late Model race car
driver Sue Sutton. It was developed specifically to make the
dreams come true for many young race fans that are seriously
ill with cancer or other life-threatening illnesses or
injuries. The
children involved in the program are patients of a local
children's hospitals. It is the goal of those persons who
oversee the program to make a day to remember for those
children; a day that has nothing to do with hospitals,
doctors, or pain. It
is our hope that the next time any of the sponsored children
have to go to the hospital to get a painful treatment, they
can pull out their pictures and memories of their day at the
track and remember a time filled with nothing but joy and
happiness.
This Racing For Smiles (RFS) event is
being planned with the help of Sue Zeigler.
Sue is the northeastern RFS coordinator.
Sue’s daughter Jackie is a late model driver at
Mahoning Valley Speedway, where a RFS event was held just a
few weeks ago.
If you’re in the mood for some serious
non-stop enduro action, come visit Mountain Speedway on
October 10th.
The racing begins at 2:00 P.M.
