LONG ISLAND PRESS’ NASCAR COLUMN SEEKS ADVERTISERS

For those seeking NASCAR coverage in your local newspaper, your time has come.  Meet the Long Island Press, Long Island’s newest answer to news, arts, and lifestyle coverage.  Not only is this the perfect opportunity to take a look at this free 96-page weekly newspaper distributed throughout the Island, but also it’s your chance to advertise on their NASCAR racing column titled “NASCAR Notebook.”  With over 150,000 copies in circulation, how could you go wrong?

For those who may be unfamiliar with Long Island’s newest paper, here’s some background information.  Almost two years ago, Long Island’s newest paper rose out of the ashes of the former Island Ear to form the Long Island Press.  Owned by the Morey Organization, the Long Island Press’ “sister” companies includes radio stations familiar to nearly every Long Islander, such as The Box 107.1, Party 105.3, and 98.5 The Bone.

The Long Island Press, in only its second year of operation, has been rapidly growing in popularity throughout the Island.  The Long Island Press circulates 150,000 copies per week, 80,000 of which are home delivered while the remainder is distributed through 1,700 pickup racks throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties.  In just 18 months, the Long Island Press has become the 3rd largest weekly paper in the country and pride themselves in being the only true alternative to the competition on Long Island.

Now the Long Island Press has a leg up on the competition with the only NASCAR coverage by any print media on Long Island.  The new half-page article titled “NASCAR Notebook” will be featured in the Long Island Press’ Sports section through the remainder of the 2004 NASCAR Nextel Cup Series season.  The Long Island Press is excited to present the opportunity for an advertiser benefiting from exposure via the new column.  The half-page advertisement is for a black and white ad the size of 9.75” X 5.75” running horizontal and directly beneath the NASCAR column.  There is also the option for the space to be split into two quarter-page ads as well, each measuring 4.75” x 5.75.”  This is an excellent opportunity for an advertiser to create an impact on the Long Island NASCAR fan community.

Also, for those interested, cross media NASCAR branding is possible through the Morey Organization’s three radio stations (The Box 107.1, Party 105.3, 98.5 The Bone) and PRN’s Garage Pass, a daily 5-minute news magazine featuring the latest NASCAR racing news and information.  Remember the key to advertising is repetition across targeted mediums. The Long Island Press and Morey Organization’s radio stations could help deliver your business a solid left right combination that takes your company to victory lane.

Don’t be left in the dust on this excellent opportunity.  The cost for running the ads depends on how soon can you act.  For more information please contact account executive Keith Betz at (516) 992-1800 ext 479 or e-mail him at kbetz@longislandpress.com.

If Long Island’s newest NASCAR column goes well, expect more in-depth coverage of not only NASCAR Auto Racing events, but of the local weekend warriors at Riverhead Raceway as well.  So don’t hesitate to act, pick up a Long Island Press at your local newsstand and contact the Long Island Press on how they can help promote your business through their newest NASCAR column.
