NORTH SOUTH SHOOTOUT TO REMAIN INDEPEDENT

Lexington, NC: In light of recent speculation, the management of C&C Racing Promotions, owners and promoters of the original North-South Shootout, have issued a formal statement to the future of the event. Owner Charles Kepley announced that the 3rd Annual North-South Shootout is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, November 3&4, 2005 at Concord Motorsports Park and will be run by C&C Racing as a non-affiliated event.

The North-South Shootoutâ„¢ is a 100-lap Modified race that features the best Modified drivers from both north and south of the Mason-Dixon Line on the famed half-mile tri-oval of Concord Motorsports Park.

"The race track has been secured through an agreement with track owner David Layton and plans are going forward as scheduled," said Kepley.

The format for the third annual event will once again boast time trials, heat races, consolation event(s), a non-qualifiers race and the 100 green flag lap main event. The ever-popular vintage Modified contingent will be part of the two-day racing extravaganza as well. Additional support divisions will be added to the schedule of events at a later date.

"As in years past we welcome any and all teams from the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour as well as the Southern contingent, Race of Champions teams and independent runners," continued Kepley.

For two years in a row, a host of the best Modified teams vied for a spot in the inaugural North-South Shootout. C&C Racing Promotions will be working hard throughout 2005 to ensure that a stellar field will be assembled up to compete in the third annual event. C&C Racing will keep fans and competitors abreast on the progress of 3rd Annual North-South Shootout.
