7 GREAT THINGS AT DAYTONA 500 GO-FOR-THE-GREEN

1)         The Daytona 500 Go-For-The-Green-Fun-Raiser is located at two convenient locations so you may enjoy “The Great American Race,” the Daytona 500 on February 20, 2005.  You may go to the Changing Times Pub at 1247 Melville Road in Farmingdale or the Changing Times Ale House at 526B Larkfield Road in East Northport.  Either one will present you with a great time. [Second Location Announcement]

2)         Help sick and underprivileged kids with a mere $10 donation to “The Victory Junction Gang,” so that they may experience some fun at summer camp this summer.  Helping these kids helps yourself as with a $10 donation you are entered into a raffle with some great prizes. Top prize is a trip to Las Vegas Motor Speedway on March 11-14, 2005 for 4 days/3 nights with airfare, hotel accommodations, and passes for Friday’s qualifying, Saturday’s Busch Series race, and Sunday’s Nextel Cup race all paid for. [Full Prize list & Where You Can Get Raffle Tickets]

3)         Budweiser, the “King of Beers” presents “Go-For-the-Green Daytona 500 Party Fun-Raiser” at both locations with some great drink specials and some fantastic giveaways.

4)         Long Island’s #1 Rock and Roll Radio Station, 102.3 WBAB, will help host the “Great American Race,” with the WBAB Rock & Roll Vans at both locations with some fantastic prizes and giveaways of their own.   If you have been listening to 102.3 WBAB, they have been already announcing the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Giveaway to benefit the “Victory Junction Gang” on their community calendar every day.

5)         MCing the “Great American Race” at the Farmingdale Changing Times Pub is none other than 102.3 WBAB’s own weekend jock, Steady “Mr. NASCAR” Eddie.  Eddie is a real big NASCAR fan and will bring some excitement to the event.  At the Changing Times Ale House in East Northport, Matt the New Guy from 102.3 WBAB’s Rock & Roll Morning Show will be leading the event.  Matt’s become a great addition to the Morning show, and girls Matt’s looking for excitement too.

6)         Just Added!  On Saturday, February 19, 2005, one day before the Daytona 500, we are having a meet & greet at the Changing Times Pub in Farmingdale (not at the East Northport location).  This is your chance to come and meet some of Long Island’s own NASCAR drivers and their cars.  In addition you can check out the hot street rods, custom cars, and go-karts for everyone to enjoy.  We will also have some playstations set up for the kids to enjoy with NASCAR Chase for the Cup ready to be played. [Note:  If you wish to bring your racecar (oval, dirt, go-kart, anything) or hot rod down, e-mail Marrzmotorsports@aol.com or call (631) 445-3298.]

7)         We’re having great raffles with some fantastic prizes all day long at both locations and dates, with proceeds going to another worthy cause:  The Marty Himes Museum of Racing Nostalgia.  Marty is Mr. Long Island Racing history and does a fantastic job trying to preserve the storied history of Long Island Racing.  Without Marty’s dedication, there would be nothing to remember.

So do what you can and lend a hand.  Stop by the Changing Times Pub in Farmingdale or the Changing Times Ale House in East Northport on February 20, 2005 for a great time and a great way to enjoy the “Great American Race,” the Daytona 500.  And don’t forget about the pre-race festivities the day before, on Saturday, February 19, 2005 where you can meet real local NASCAR drivers and see some hot cars, only at the Farmingdale location.  What are you waiting for?  Make plans now to enjoy some great racing with fellow race fans, win some prizes, and benefit great causes.
