This Friday, February 25 at 12
noon, the “Perfect Lunch Hour” with Donna Donna on 102.3
WBAB will feature 12-year old Joseph Burns, driver of
the #53 John’s Auto Repair Dodge of the Long Island Mini
Cup association. Burns will be on hand give his
perspective on growing up with racing and how the future
of Long Island racing gets around nowadays.
Joseph Burns has come a long way
from racing go-karts. Burns started out as many young
and aspiring racecar drivers do in the karts but quickly
moved up to the scaled down Nextel Cup cars known as
Mini Cups. Burns is a driver of the Long Island Mini
Cup Association (LIMCA), an organization founded by his
father John a few years ago which has been getting
stronger each and every year. The LIMCA has run on
tracks all around the northeast, but in 2005 will
primarily focus on Mountain Speedway in Pennsylvania and
Poughkeepsie Speedway in the Hudson Valley of NY. For
more information on the Long Island Mini Cup Association
visit their website at
www.liminicup.com.
In upcoming weeks, 102.3 WBAB’s

many Long Island Racing notables on a weekly basis.
Personalities coming up include Eddie Brunnhoelzl III,
driver of the #83x SPONSORS WANTED Modified; Marty Himes
from the Marty Himes Racing Museum in Bay Shore; Dave
Brigati, driver of the #1x Late Model and #98x Super Pro
