Fresh off a
successful rookie season in the ultra-competitive NASCAR
Modified ranks at Riverhead Raceway, Sal Accardi Jr. of
Deer Park is very excited about the upcoming 2005
campaign thanks mainly to a new sponsor his team
recently signed.
"We are extremely proud to announce that Peter J.
Dunn, Attorney at Law based in Deer Park has signed on
as a major sponsor for 2005" Sal disclosed. Accardi is
quick to point out what the Peter J. Dunn sponsorship
means to his sophomore effort, "This is truly a huge
step in continuing this team forward in the chase for a
solid points finish in 2005".
Sal placed second in the 2004 Rookie of the Year
voting and his freshman season was highlighted by a
feature event win on Saturday night August 14th nearly
eighteen years to the day of his father Sal's only
career NASCAR Modified win. Accardi wound-up 15th in the
final 2004 point standings.
"We'd also like to welcome aboard Blue Point Auto
Body who will be joining us for the 2005 season" Sal
added. Returning to the team from the 2004 sponsorship
program will be Aable Auto Salvage, Wyandanch Auto Parts
and Machine, A-Plus Auto Salvage and S.J. Aire.
Currently the team is busy readying their NASCAR
Modified for the two pre-season practice dates at
Riverhead Raceway on April 6th and 23rd, which precede
the 2005 season opener Saturday April 30th.
