AMITY
NISSAN RETURNS TO SPONSOR TWO RIVERHEAD DIVISIONS
After a
successful first season as a marketing partner at
Barbara and Jim Cromarty's Riverhead Raceway, the Amity
Nissan Superstore recently signed on to return as a
season sponsor for two divisions of the NASCAR Dodge
Weekly Series. The curtain will go up on all six
divisions at the quarter mile oval Saturday evening
April 30th, the first half of a doubleheader-opening
weekend.
Rick Cardella of Amity Nissan Superstore of
Massapequa will back both the Late Model and Super Pro
Truck divisions for 2005 adding weekly purse money for
each class. Two Amity Nissan Superstore Night's at the
races will be on the 2005 slate with August 13th for the
Super Pro Trucks and September 3rd for the Late Models.
Glenn Tyler of Hampton Bays comes to the 2005 Late
Model season as two-time defending champion of the class
and he'll shoot for a hat trick of titles in 2005. Lou
Maestri of Deer Park won the 2005 Super Pro Truck
championship, his first career title and he hopes to
repeat this season as well.
After two pre-season practice sessions on Saturday
April 16th and Saturday April 23rd the NASCAR Dodge
Weekly Series will open up for keeps Saturday April 30th
with a busy six-for-one card. Joining the Late Models
and Super Pro Trucks will be the NASCAR Modifieds,
Figure Eights, Chargers and a 30-lap double point
feature for the Blunderbusts.
Rounding out the opening weekend of racing will be a
full card of Enduro racing on Sunday afternoon May 1st
featuring a Grand Enduro as well as 8-Cylinder,
6-Cylinder, 4-Cylinder and a 4/6-Cylinder Truck Enduro
action. A Car Rollover Contest and One-On-One Spectator
Drags will complete the day of racing which starts at
12:30 pm.
