The Long Island Karting Association (LIKA)
held the Karting & Small Motorcycle Expo this past
weekend at the Hilton Long Island. In addition to
the many karts and small motorcycles on display, LIKA
announced their 2005 schedule and their new venue, the
Nassau Coliseum.
The event showcased cadet sized karts
for junior drivers 5 years of age and up. Standard adult
size karts for the Sportsman 100cc classes and the 125cc
Rotax & TAG classes. A variety of small motorcycles were
also on display. Over 125 people attended the afternoon
event.
LIKA also announced its 2005 Kart race
schedule which included 14 race dates at the Nassau
Coliseum complex in Uniondale, NY. Check

for exact dates and details. National Karting Champion
and LIKA member Chris Beck previewed the new track
layout for the Coliseum location. Beck suggested the new
layout based on his national competition experience. The
veteran LIKA members excited to test out the new
location and course. The first event will be on April 3,
