The ABC Car Crushing Holiday Stock Car Series April
2nd event sponsored by Topper Brokerage is looking
like there will be a record number of enduro cars and
fans attending. This will be the second points race for
the NEETS members in the 2005 series with the first
being the very successful January "Beaters with Heaters"
event where over 200 cars came from all over the
Northeast giving the record fan count an excellent
mid-winter racing fix.
Current 2005 point leaders Ray Fitzgerald (former 2003
NEETS champion) in the Cottman transmission 6/8 cyl
division and Valley Service 4cyl division driver,
Patrick Verwys (of the "Killer Vs team) will both be
attempting to keep their lead in this next tough ,door
to door, action packed event. Other NEETS regulars will
be trying to take away their current crown because in
this series, anyone can do well or win because of the
"stock" rules and enforcement.
North East Enduro Tour Series promoter Billy Bartley
says that he has over 240 cars pre-registered at this
time with more expected after all of the advertising is
out. "I only have 140 transponder units so I may have to
split one or both of the divisions into separate races
giving even more bang for the buck to our loyal fans"
say Billy.
Billy offers much entertainment for the fans hard earned
money as well as different free drinks at each race and
either a fan participation event or an added special
event. All of the Holiday Stock Car Series events are
only $7 admission in which Billy deems $1 of that to a
local charity. This event will benefit a local "No Kill"
animal shelter. Drivers and fans are also asked to bring
a dog or cat food item to help them out a bit more. This
event will also hold a "Sidewalk Scooter" race where the
children may get a chance to run on a lap on the race
track in one of the 2 divisions, under 4 foot tall and
over 4 foot tall. There will be trophies for the winners
and all the rules for participation are on the official
NEETS website. Free Hot Coffee is also offered to all
courtesy of Bartley Racing Enterprises.
A 7pm after race party is planned at the Crossroads Inn
in Mountaintop, Pa. free to all race participants and
crew to show appreciation for their support of the
series. There will be a DJ, dancing, free hot wings/
munchies and "adult refreshment". Billy said he has a
few surprises planned for the post race party. I guess
we'll hear all about this one after the fact knowing
him.
Billy attributes the success of this series to mainly
his officials and members. He adds "They are the most
dedicated people I have ever seen in my 40+ years in
racing". The drivers are all stars. "We have some of the
most colorful, dedicated drivers in the sport with us"
Billy mentions. "They are old, young, veterans,
rookies...a very diversified field" he adds. But the
best thing is, this is ENDURO RACING. Anyone can win!!!
and they do in my series.
If
any of you have never attended one of Billy's events, I
urge you to try it one time. I say they are like eating
a Lays potato chip..."you can't just SEE one". The
action is non-stop, the cars are outrageous, it is just
plain F.U.N. Fan and driver attendance is always record
numbers. Another important note to remember is all of
these events are run "Rain, Snow or Shine"....never
cancelled. All the information about the NEETS Holiday
Stock Car Series can be found on the official website
www.neetstour.net or you can contact Billy at pm

The next series points race following the April 2nd date
will be on Monday, May 30th for the "Busy Bee Pest
Control" Memorial Day Madness event featuring minimum
two 100 lap enduros. They will be destroying a "Osama'
car at halftime just for giggles.
