JENTILE & VOLLMOELLER SOAK UP NEETS WINS

Joe 'Millionaire' Jentile and Robin Vollmoeller displayed patience and consistency during near constant downpours Saturday in the ABC Car Cushing NEETS Holiday Stock Cars Series (NEETS HSCS) events Saturday at Mountain Speedway, which was sponsored by Topper Brokerage.

>From the time racers began to arrive at the 1/3rd mile facility
>Saturday, to
say 'dampness' was in the air would be an understatement. As always, rain, sleet or snow, does not affect the NEETS enduro races. The show still goes on, just like in Saturday's case.

The first event of the afternoon was the Valley Service 4 Cylinders. It didn't take Mike Odwazny in the #2/10 very long to steal the lead from pole sitter, Mike Racho in the #777. Odwazny held the top spot for a number of circuits, and was eventually passed by the #28X of Christian Conklin. By lap 80 the rain became more intense than ever, and Conklin's lead was fairly large. On lap 88 that all changed. While driving down the front stretch and attempting to enter turn one, Conklin made very hard contact with the outside wall, thus ending his day after a superb run. Robin Vollmoeller, who was running in second at that point, inherited the lead. Lately, Robin has been the bridesmaid, finishing second in the last two NEETS HSCS races.
Not a bridesmaid any longer, Vollmoeller took the checkers over 4C-modified sensation Woot Lawrence for his first NEETS HSCS 4 cyl. feature win.

A scooter race for the young race fans was scheduled for intermission.
However, due to the rain and slippery track conditions, NEETS officials made the wise decision to reschedule the race on another date.

By the time the Cottman Transmission 6/8 cyl. division took to the track, Mother Nature seemed to give everyone a break. However, right about the time pole sitter, George 'Pappy' Herman took the green, once again rain began falling. 'Dr. Destruction' Howie Bott darted out to the early lead, but by lap 22, the '04 NEETS champion, Joe Jentile made the pass for the lead. Chad Bezubek in the #25 made a hard charge into second by mid-race, but never had anything for Jentile, eventually falling back in the field.
Jentile took the checkers with his smooth driving style by lapping the second place car of Tom Slee one time.

The weather did not stop the drivers, fans and NEETS officials from donating pet type items to the NEETS non-profit charity from this event to the Animal Care Association, which is located in Scranton, PA. Also $1 from each general admission will go towards its cause.

The next ABC Car Crushing NEETS Holiday Stock Car Series event is on Memorial Day, May 30th, at Mountain Speedway. The event sponsor is Busy Bee Pest Control, and will feature the 4 cyl. 'Freedom 100' and the 6/8 cyl.
'Victory 100'. In addition to great racing, an Osama vehicle will be destroyed at intermission on the racetrack for the fans to enjoy. $1 from every general admission for this event will be donated toward a veteran memorial plaque to display at during future events at the speedway.
