After the
success of the NEETS Holiday Stock Car Series I feel a
need to fill the other end of the spectrum when it comes
to Enduro racing. I have come up with what I think will
be a very fun series to fill the void of all the "other"
cars out there and give them many places to have some
fun while in the meantime helping the individual
speedway promoters pay the "bills".
It will be a
series made up of "not-so-stock" cars. In other words, the
drivers may use some creative engineering with the liberal
rules set forth to govern these "Hot Rods". The new series
will be called NEETS X-SES (Xtreme Super
Enduro Series) and the cars from the individual tracks will
be named "X" cars plus the hometracks initials
(ex...Mountain will have MSX cars and MSX4). It is my hopes
to get as many tracks in the Northeast to participate in
this new series, run as many events at their home track as
they like under a uniform set of liberal rules. I will hold
my own track "X" series plus I will host 2 National
Championship events at Mountain Speedway, St Johns,
Pa. during the season and an end of year 2 day National
Northeast 250 lap X car Championship for some big money. The
top 5 drivers from each track will be guaranteed starters in
these events up to 100 cars.
The rules are not
fully completed as of today but will be completed after I do
a little more research on more individual speedway rules.
Just to let out a few tidbits to the drivers, here are some
of the projected rules...There will be turbos and
superchargers allowed, any carburetion, motor must match
frame mfr, street headers allowed, 8" wheels with any tire
as long as it has 3/32 tread to start race, stock mount
rated springs, spacers, stock mount aftermarket shocks, plus
a few more goodies. The main emphasis is on safety. All cars
must have minimum 4 point rollcage (6 point min on tracks
larger than 1/3 mile) w/3 drivers door bars and padding, min
4 point racing harness, window nets, firesuits, snell
approved helmets, etc and all will be strictly checked and
if approved given a safety inspection sticker. No sticker/
no race.
I am in hopes to
contact many Northeast track promoters to inform them of my
new series in the next few weeks. It would be greatly
beneficial for them to join in and see what fun all could
have again while in the meantime paying the "bill" to keep
the doors open for the regular weekly divisions. If any
interested promoters out there are reading this, don't wait
for me to call you...give me a shout any day after 6pm at
570-881-9591 or e-mail me at
billyb@neetstour.net I can explain the extra benefits
not mentioned here of holding these type events at your
facilities.
I will also
welcome emails from drivers, crew and fan feedback about
this new idea. (Series sponsor partnership welcome too- Get
in on the ground floor).

OUT.....Here come the "MONSTERS"
