SAFELITE AUTO GLASS TO SPONSOR LATE MODELS
Coming off one
of their better seasons in 2004, the Riverhead Raceway Late
Models got some good news. Heading into the 2005 opening
night April 30th Safelite Auto Glass has signed on as a
seasonal sponsor for the new campaign. The Late Models will
be among six divisions that make-up the 2005 roster at
Barbara and Jim Cromarty's quarter mile speed path.
The Safelite Auto Glass sponsorship will come from their
Riverhead location at 222. West Main where former
Mini-Modified driver Richie Searles operates the facility.
Searles, who ran the Mini's from 1981 until '83 and in the
1990's ran a brief NASCAR Modified effort, was excited about
his new alliance with Riverhead Raceway. "As everyone knows
NASCAR racing offers a great marketing opportunity and the
Dodge Weekly Series at Riverhead gives the local business
person an affordable avenue of advertising" Searles
indicated.
Aside from the Riverhead location Safelite Auto Glass
has four other Long Island location, plus 30 vans Safelite
utilizes for their mobile auto glass repair service. Searles
and his staff will host the Safelite Auto Glass night on
Saturday night July 9th.
Joining the Late Models on the April 30th NASCAR Dodge
Weekly Series opener at Riverhead will be the NASCAR
Modifieds, Figure Eights, Chargers, Blunderbusts and Super
Pro Trucks. Qualifying is set for 4:30 pm and main event
racing will commence at 6:00 pm.
