SUNOCO TO CONTINUE BALDWIN AWARD AT RIVERHEAD
Fred Bobb of
Sunoco Race Fuels announced this past Saturday that the
weekly Tom Baldwin Hard Charger award started in August of
2004 will continue for the NASCAR Modified of Riverhead
Raceway in 2005.
Sunoco Race Fuels, which is distributed by A-1 Racing
Specialties through Fred Bobb, started this award just hours
after the legendary Tom Baldwin lost his life in a tragic
accident. "Tiger" Tom was a one of a kind driver and
personality Bobb recalls, "also Tom was very loyal to Sunoco
Race Fuels one of his long time associate sponsors and we
feel this is a great way to thank him and keep his name
active".
For every one of the NASCAR Modified Dodge Weekly Series
main events, the driver that improves the most positions
from their original starting berth will receive 5 gallons of
Sunoco Race Fuels free of charge in Tom Baldwin's name. The
first driver to win the award in 2004 was "Lighting" Lew
Hallock of Moriches.
Aside from 2005 the Tom Baldwin Hard Charger award will
continue for what Bobb termed "as long as there is Modified
racing at Riverhead"
