MALVERTY'S FINAL RIDE APRIL 30
by J.A.

Eugene Malverty, a Riverhead mainstay
for many years will sing his final swan song at the
quarter-mile bullring on Opening Night, April 30. Afterwards
he will head down to his new home down in Florida and leave
a storied legacy behind. Malverty’s departure will leave a
big void at Riverhead Raceway, one that many will miss.
Malverty, an accomplished Demolition
Derby, Enduro, and Blunderbust competitor will be entering
his final Riverhead race next Saturday. During his tenure,
Malverty earned 2 Demolition Derby championships, in 1995
and 1999. In the Enduros, Malverty would be one to watch,
moving through the field each race and earning over 25 wins
in his storied career. And from where most Riverhead fans
remember Malverty, in the Blunderbusts, his #23 would be
feared and revered, earning 2 back-to-back Blunderbust
championships, the first to accomplish the feat in over 10
years.
With his final ride impending, Malverty
would like to thank those who made his two-decade career
special. Firstly, Malverty would like to thank his wife
Michele, and his sons Nicholas and Christopher for always
being there for him and being his #1 fans. Secondly,
Malverty would like to thanks his dedicated crew chief Arti,
along with Karen for her paperwork help, Tommy for his
support, and his crew members Brian and Joe. In addition,
Malverty would like to thank his devoted fan base who
supported him through the years. And last but not least,
special thanks goes out to the sponsors that have made
Malverty’s career a success: All Stock Auto Parts, Masal &
Sons, and G-Force Collision.
In addition, Malverty's racing
equipment is up for sale, including the #23 Blunderbust.

So be sure you head to the track Saturday April 30 to see
one of the Blunderbust greats in his final race.
Afterwards, you will have to travel down the coast to
Florida to see one of the best at maneuvering through a
field to earn a win. So don't miss out!
