Raceway officials announced today that Unique Golf of
Babylon Village, L.I. will sponsor the July 30th
Tom Baldwin Memorial 77 at Barbara and Jim Cromarty’s
quarter mile facility. The race will now be known as the Tom
Baldwin Memorial 77 by Unique Golf.
A familiar
name already at Riverhead Raceway through his sponsorship of
three race teams, Jim Wichert owner of Unique Golf, was very
excited about being involved with this race for a Long
Island racing icon. “All of us at Unique Golf are extremely
honored and proud to have our name associated with Tom
Baldwin, a true legend of our sport,” said Wichert. “We’re
expecting one of the best races run by the best racers on
Long Island to unfold, you know every driver wants to win
that trophy with Tom Baldwin’s name on it” Jim concluded.
Unique Golf
also sponsors the Mike Mortimer Late Model effort, along
with George Sprague in Figure Eight racing and Blunderbust
standout Tommy Walkowiak. Unique Golf is located at 105 West
Main Street in Babylon Village just west of Old Deer Park
Avenue. Everything a golfer could ask for can be found at
Unique Golf, new clubs, used clubs, club repairs, golf
outings and all the latest state of the art golf equipment
from all the leading manufacturers.
The Tom
Baldwin Memorial 77 by Unique Golf will also carry plenty of
lap money, as Tom Baldwin Jr. will be announcing a lap money
program that will also benefit the Victory Junction Gang.
Also Riverhead Raceway will be offering lap sponsorships
through Ellen and Gina in the Hoosier Tire area. So aside
from the prestige of this 77-lap contest, it will be one of
the better paying Saturday night main events as well.
