MOTHER NATURE SWEEPS RIVERHEAD OPENING WEEKEND
The only big winner for the opening
weekend at Riverhead Raceway would turn out to be Mother
Nature. Both the Saturday NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series
program on Saturday and the Enduro show set for Sunday were
washed out.
Originally the Enduro had a rain date for May 8th, but
with that being Mother's Day that date will NOT be utilized.
The drivers signed up for the May 1st Enduro will now be
credited for the Memorial Day Weekend Enduro ONLY, with that
race set for May 29th. The rain date will be Monday, May
30th, Memorial Day.
This Saturday evening a 50-lap double point NASCAR
Modified feature will kick-off the 2005 campaign with time
trial qualifying at 4:00 pm. The Blunderbust 30-lap, double
point main event set for this past Saturday will now join
the May 7th program along with the Late Models, Figure
Eights, Chargers and Super Pro Trucks.
Race teams please note that the pit gates will open at
9:00 am this Saturday and practice is slated to start at 12
noon to give teams some track time after the April 23rd
warm-up day was washed out.
Qualifying will start at 4:00 pm with time trials and
the feature events will go green at 6:00 pm. For more
information please dial 631-842-RACE or visit
