NEW SAFETY MEASURES FOR LONG ISLAND MINICUPS

After a horrific crash this past weekend at Mountain Speedway, the Long Island Mini Cup Association has decided to institute a number of safety mandates.  All these safety mandates will be required by the next LIMCA race.

For the Junior Classes:

  • MANDATORY:  Professionally manufactured and recognized head and neck restraint system.

For the Adult Classes:

  • MANDATORY:  Minimum of neck collar, but strongly recommended a form of head and neck restraint system.

For the ALL Classes:

  • MANDATORY:  Right-side seat mounted head support.  Left-side support is optional but strongly suggested.

The following items must be obtained, present, installed and used at the next race or your car will not be allowed on the track.  A pre-race driver and car safety tech will be mandatory at next race as well.  NO exceptions.

One final reminder…  As stated in the rulebook, Rule 28.3 states “No liquid or other tire softeners are allowed.”  Anyone caught using anything other than a heat gun will be set down for the night and face further penalty.
