Lexington, NC: C&C Racing Promotions is proud to announce
an increase to the Modified Purse for the North-South
Shootout TM. Over $51,000 is on the line for the 100-lap
Modified main event that is scheduled for November 4&5, 2005
at Concord Motorsports Park in Concord, NC.
The 3rd Annual North-South Shootout TM will pay
$5,000 to the winner and $3,200 for second position with
$10,000 available in lap money. In 2005, the event will pay
$700 to take the green flag for the 100-lap event.
The increase over previous years comes primarily in the
bottom end of the purse structure. Finishing positions
twelfth on back have seen an increase of $25 each for an
increase of over $500.
“We wish it could be more,” said promoter Charles Kepley of
C&C Racing. “But it is a start. With the purse and the lap
money that is available, we feel that the purse is strong up
front. We wanted to add something for those that are less
fortunate during the race. We appreciate how much goes into
competing in a race of this magnitude and we will do what we
can to compensate for it.”
Last year, race winner Donny Lia and runner-up Eric Beers
both pocketed over $6,000 in prize money and contingencies.
“We will continue to work hard to find sponsorship to
further increase the purse and to enhance the marketing and
promotion of the Shootout,” added Kepley. “The whole staff
of the North-South Shootout TM is dedicated to giving the
racing community, up North and down South, a great race. We
want to make the North-South Shootout TM an enjoyable
experience for the competitors to the fans.”
The
North-South Shootout™ is a 100-lap Modified race that
features the best Modified drivers from both north and south
of the Mason-Dixon Line on the famed half-mile tri-oval of
Concord Motorsports Park. For the first time, the popular
SK Modifieds will be part of the excitement of the
North-South Shootout ™.
The racy vintage Modified contingent will be part of the
two-day racing extravaganza as well.
The format for the third annual
event will boast time trials, heat races, consolation and
non-qualifiers event(s) for both the Modifieds and SKs. The
Modifieds will go 100 green flag laps while the SK Modifieds
will do 50-laps.
