View from the Tailgate

"If it don't make dollars, then it don 't make sense."

THE END OF THE 2005-RACING SEASON
(Another season shot)

First thing first to all of the 2005 champions – JOB WELL DONE!
Bill Park – Modified Champion – Congratulations to you and your team on your second championship
Roger Oxee – Late Model Champion – LONG TIME OVER DUE
Dan Turbush – Charger Champion – What can I say?  I am convinced that you can drive the wheels off any type of racecar.
George Sprague – Figure 8 Champion – You’re keeping up with the family tradition…
Scott Maliszewski – Blunderbust Champion – What a great run and great consistency all season.
Lou Maestri – Super Pro Truck Champion – Congratulations times two…

And for some of the other driver and teams; a few thoughts:

Blunderbusts:
Tommy Walkowiak – What, 7 wins and still not sitting at the big table?
Doug Watson – If it wasn’t for bad luck you would not have luck at all
(Gold was not your color, and you can thank a certain someone for taking the “spark” out of your dream)
Wayne Okula and Artie Pedersen – turning in their driving gloves for boxing gloves next season

Super Pro Trucks
Frank Dumicich Sr. and Jr. – Great to see that a family can still race together
Mike Albasini – There is always next year
Troy Ferdinando – Two words – TIRE SEALER
Bryan Sescila – The sophomore jinx

Late Models
Jack Orlando – I’m impressed
Dave Brigati – Some operation
Greg Kleila – Always looks sharp in my eyes
Mike Coll – The kid to watch

Chargers
Robin Vollmoeller – still has it
Kevin Orlando – Keeping up with the old man
Mike Coll – The kid to watch

Modifieds
Lenny Fischer – Always knew you could still win
Wayne Anderson – Not bad for an old man
Chuck Steuer – If you ever want to lose your tire management person (Rachel), she can come work on my team

Figure 8’s
Roger Maynor – Is it true that second stinks?
Tommy Kraft – Words can’t describe my feelings
George Brown – Welcome back, come stay awhile

Bob Scordo – Will surely be missed. We worked together on both sides of the scales
Bob Finan and Jeff Bressler – Thanks for letting all of the fans know who our sponsors are and thanks for the laughs
Barbara and Jim Cromarty – For giving all of us a place to enjoy what we do
Bill Denniston and the Raceway staff – Not an easy job

To everyone
A safe and healthy off-season to all

Nevertheless, these are just my views from the tailgate.
