Lexington, NC: C&C Racing Promotions proudly announces the
dates for the 4th Annual North-South Shootout TM. The event
will be scheduled for Friday and Saturday, November 3&4, 2006 at
Concord Motorsports Park in Concord, NC and will once again
showcase the best that Modified racing has to offer from both
the Tour-type and SK Modifieds ranks.
"We are tremendously proud of what we have been able to build
after only a few years," said race promoter Charles Kepley of
Lexington, NC. "We will host the race, as we traditionally have,
on the first weekend in November. Fans and teams alike know
from year to year when they can expect the excitement of the
North-South Shootout TM."
After three years, the North-South Shootout TM continues to gain
momentum. The inaugural John Boy & Billy Genuine Mountain
Spring Water 100 presented by Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer, held in
November '03, was one of the best Modified races of the year
with the last lap duel between John Blewett and Jerry Marquis.
In the second event, Donny Lia cemented his place as one of
Modified racings biggest contenders. In 2005, John Blewett III
became the first repeat winner, Brian Loftin earned the South
it’s first podium, and the SK Modifieds had the crowd on their
feet with an outstanding inaugural race.
Much of the same can be expected when the best drivers from both
north and south of the Mason Dixon line head to Concord for the
4th Annual North-South Shootout TM on November 3&4, 2006.
In
2005, 85 of the best Modified and SK Modified drivers vied for
spots in the North-South Shootout TM. C&C Racing Promotions
will be working hard throughout 2006 to ensure that a stellar
(and chock-full) field will show up to compete in the 4th Annual
event.
The format for the fourth annual event will once again boast
time trials, heat races, and consolation event(s). The
Modifieds will again compete in a 100 green flag lap main event
with the SK Modifieds competing in a 50-lapper. The
ever-popular vintage Modified contingent will be part of the
two-day racing extravaganza as well. Additional support
divisions may be added to the schedule of events at a later
date.
