The Walt DeMorris Memorial Challenge
at Mountain Speedway averted rainfall by holding a very successful
practice night. 22 cars were on hand to take practice, many of which
read as a who’s who of Late Model Racing. In addition, a few Street
Stocks took advantage of the long practice as well. Saturday is
scheduled to be a go and will go as scheduled. All efforts will be made
to get the race in on Saturday. If Saturday is undoable, Sunday will be
the rain date. For weather information stay tuned to

Folks from around the Northeast were
on hand to take advantage of the long practice session on Friday night.
From Upstate New York, #88 Billy Pruitt, #99 Todd Hoddick, and #18 Bill
Catania was on hand to take some laps. Pruitt would have a rough night,
as he would wind up backing his #88 Campbell Race Engines Dodge into the
wall, creating a lot of sheet metal damage, but no structural damage.
#58x Barry Gommer of Wyoming Co. Int’l Speedway was a late entry and did
not take any laps.
From Riverhead, #08 Jarrod Hayes, #5
Bryan Sescila, #9 Joe Cerabino, #10 Scott Kulesa, #14 Mike Mortimer, #28
Roger Maynor, #39 RJ Oxee, #42 Glenn Tyler, #68 Buzzy Eriksen, #72 Greg

session and turned some fast laps. #10 Scott Kulesa looked fast but
unfortunately broke a rear end and is on his way coming to or from Long
Island with a new rear. #97 Kevin Metzger appeared in a bright yellow
#97, varying from his traditional #23.

Jr., #19 Larry Fisher, #51 Jim Brown, and late entry #4 Barry Callavini
