To Serve As Grand Marshal For
35th Annual Tech-Net Spring Sizzler
Stafford Springs, CT — The
35th annual Tech-Net Spring Sizzler
presented by CARQUEST will have Connecticut
Governor M. Jodi Rell serve as Grand
Marshal. Rell will wave the green flag to
send the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour field
on their way in "The Greatest Race in the
History of Spring."
"We're looking forward to having the governor serve as our
Grand Marshal for the Tech-Net Spring
Sizzler," said Mark Arute, SMS CEO/GM. "We
are very proud and honored to have the
Governor of Connecticut serve as our Spring
Sizzler Grand Marshal."
Ms. Rell served in the Connecticut House of Representatives
from 1984-1994, and she then served as
Connecticut's Lt. Governor from 1995-2004,
when she succeeded John Rowland as governor
of Connecticut. Governor Rell is seeking
reelection in 2006 as the Republican

The 2006 Tech-Net Spring Sizzler gets underway Friday, April
28 with a practice session for Stafford's
weekly divisions. The practice session will
be open to the public at no charge. Action
continues on Saturday, April 29 with Bud
Pole Qualifying for the Whelen Modified Tour
cars, along with heat and consolation races
for Stafford's weekly divisions and the NEMA
Midget cars. Saturday will conclude with
feature events for the SK Light, Limited
Late Model, and DARE Stock divisions. The
Sizzler concludes on Sunday,
April 30 with the Tech-Net Pit Party followed by 300 laps of
feature racing. Stafford's SK Modifieds(r)
and Late Models will join the Whelen
Modified Tour and NEMA Midgets in feature
action.
Tickets for the "Greatest Race in the History of Spring" are
on sale now at the Speedway Box Office.
Tickets are priced at $35.00 for adult
general admission tickets, $5.00 for
children ages 6-14, and children ages 5 and
under are admitted free of charge when
accompanied by an adult.
Reserved seating is priced at $38.00 for all ages. As always,
Stafford Motor Speedway offers free parking
with overnight parking available.
